Vision Statement
Alchemists sought the secret wisdom of how to transform base metals into gold. Artists are alchemists of a sort. We attempt to reveal wonder within the ordinary or unseen.
In my painting process, I rely heavily on imagery from the unconscious, which itself is like the ancient tome of wisdom depicted in this piece. I feel surrounded by the uncanny, the archetypal, all encrypted and sublime. Fluid images swirl around me as I paint. I study them and experiment. The spirit of creation infuses everything with malleability.
