About the Artist

In this piece,” Greta Thru the Creek Fire”, I highlight Greta Thunberg and her words, “It is

impossible to live sustainably today and that has to change” . The background map, mounted

on birch board is taken from daily postings by Cal Fire documenting the burn areas of the

Creek Fire in the Sierras, 2020.. The painted cedar bark serves to suggest both mans damage

to nature through global warming and beetle infestation. The focus of this project is the image

of the Swedish teen who lead the march for change in 2019. The snake skin symbolizes the

hope we hold for the future. In fact, balanced parts, of this piece draw attention to the need for
urgent care of our planet. If this piece sells, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Creek Fire Restoration Project.
