Visions of Self is an annual show of work from female artists across the world. It’s hosted by the Women’s Voices, Women’s Vision group of Yosemite Sierra Artists. In our second year, we’re featuring over 100 artists from 14 countries, with work including the subjects of self-portraiture, environment, emotions, and state of being.

This piece is about creating a safe space in my mind. The idea of a “happy place” is something we’ve all heard. For me, instead of a memory I envisioned a room. The image came naturally and I began to realize, I hated all the furniture I had picked out in my head. Since this realization, I’ve been obsessed with the image of this room and thinking about the lack of control we have of our own minds
