Visions of Self is an annual show of work from female artists across the world. It’s hosted by the Women’s Voices, Women’s Vision group of Yosemite Sierra Artists. In our second year, we’re featuring over 100 artists from 14 countries, with work including the subjects of self-portraiture, environment, emotions, and state of being.
Shields Up
Though sheltering in place, I still take daily walks. What’s most evident in this piece is the larger than life spirit of my determination. I am determined to stay healthy, I am determined to stay positive. It is also evident that I need layers of protection in order to do so. I left the piece raw and messy to truly reflect the times. It’s the first time I did not try to paint me pretty.
