Emptiness

Painting: Acrylic

I started acrylic pouring during the pandemic and loved the swiping technique. You can lose yourself into the medium, forget about the real world and your problems for a little while.
As I practiced the technique I decided to embellish one of the blue pours with a girl, standing in the downpour, feeling blue. I could just see her in the painting and I wanted to bring her out to the forefront.
She represents how I feel in the pandemic. Alone, sad and everything being dumped on me.
I then decided to do a series on her, trying to get across my feelings of transitioning to this new reality and the helplessness,  frustration, emptiness, sadness and the gut wrenching feeling of will it ever end.
