I have lived in the Sierra Nevada mountains and high desert landscape at Mono Lake celebrating my connection with nature since 1964. I was an Artist in Residence at Manzanar National Historic Site for 5 weeks, and started using origami paper in my paintings. The figure represents me observing the beauty of the desert. My Granddaughter made the cut-out in the upper left-hand corner, another connection with family. The blue water signifies abundant life in a dry landscape and my Vision of Self. My daughter is named for a beautiful canyon near Mono Lake. This place holds much of my life.
