Visions of Self is an annual show of work from female artists across the world. It’s hosted by the Women’s Voices, Women’s Vision group of Yosemite Sierra Artists. In our second year, we’re featuring over 100 artists from 14 countries, with work including the subjects of self-portraiture, environment, emotions, and state of being.

When I created this piece a few years ago, our nation’s politics and response to events that led us to war felt isolating. Now, today, I’d say the state of our nation and the current pandemic speaks to the feeling of isolation in a much deeper, more personal sense. This piece reflects the void created by forced solitude and societal unrest.
