Barbie

Sherril Royse
mariposa, CA United States
Painting: Oil

Barbie – the present day symbol of beauty. The shadows come from all directions or none at all. The painting depicts the world of the imagination rather than realistic depiction.
Barbie is a doll who is anatomically improbable, with elongated neck and torso, broken joints, plastic skin, not of human proportions. And yet our society sees her as the ideal woman figure. She has become an Icon.
